Bodoland Journalists’ Association Holds Central Executive Meeting in Udalguri

Udalguri, June 14: The Bodoland Journalists’ Association (BJA) convened its Central Executive Meeting on June 14 at Kongland Park in Chuklai, located in Assam’s Udalguri district. The meeting was organised by the Udalguri District Committee of the association and hosted by the Bhergaon Press Club.

Representatives from all five districts under the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) — Udalguri, Kokrajhar, Tamulpur, Chirang and Baksa — took part in the deliberations.

The meeting was presided over by Shankar Choudhury, president of the association’s Central Committee. Several senior members addressed the gathering, including Central Committee advisers Nava Kumar Deka, Gautam Jyoti Talukdar and Abu Bakkar Siddique, as well as Central Committee secretary Ramen Das.

During the meeting, the speakers discussed various issues concerning the Bodoland Journalists’ Association and highlighted different aspects related to its development and future activities.

Ramen Das elaborated on the objectives of the executive meeting and outlined its significance for the organisation. The welcome address was delivered by the secretary of the Udalguri District Committee of the association, while Prafulla Boro, secretary of the Bhergaon Press Club, proposed the vote of thanks.

The meeting brought together journalists from across the BTC region and provided a platform for discussions on matters concerning the association and the media fraternity in Bodoland.
