Differently-Abled Woman Delivers Baby on Silchar–Agartala Train, Prompt Assistance Ensures Safe Hospital Transfer

Silchar-Agartala, June 15: A differently-abled woman gave birth to a baby aboard the Silchar–Agartala train after experiencing intense labour pain, causing panic and confusion among fellow passengers. The unexpected delivery took place inside one of the train coaches, where anxious travellers rushed to seek help as the distressed mother appealed for immediate assistance.

The incident soon came to the notice of social worker Subir Dhar, who is widely known in the region for his humanitarian activities. After being informed about the situation, Dhar promptly dispatched one of his associates to provide assistance and later reached the scene himself to oversee the rescue efforts.

With the support of railway and police personnel, arrangements were made to safely evacuate both the newborn and the mother. They were subsequently shifted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for necessary treatment and medical care.

The incident created considerable attention at Silchar Railway Station, drawing the notice of passengers and railway authorities. The timely intervention and humanitarian efforts led by Subir Dhar were widely appreciated by local residents and members of the public.

Many people praised the response as a shining example of compassion and selfless service, saying the episode highlighted the enduring spirit of humanity and community support during moments of crisis.
