Udalguri, June 17: Young entrepreneur and cultural activist Gunindra Kumar Deka of Orang Tea Estate in Udalguri district was felicitated on Tuesday as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Assam Focus. The honour was jointly conferred by Assam Focus and the APKU Udalguri District Committee in recognition of his contributions to entrepreneurship and society.
A resident of Orang Tea Estate under Orang Mouza in the 47 No. Mazbat Legislative Assembly Constituency, the 47-year-old is the son of Anand Chandra Deka and Kamini Deka. A graduate by qualification, Deka chose the path of independent entrepreneurship over a government job and embarked on his business journey around fifteen years ago.
Beginning his venture in Orang, he later expanded his operations to Sirajuli and subsequently established a hardware business along the Orang National Park Road. Through his enterprises, he has not only secured his own livelihood but has also generated employment opportunities for several people in the area.
Recognising his achievements and his role in promoting entrepreneurship, Assam Focus presented him with a special felicitation during the programme. Apart from his business pursuits, Deka has remained actively involved in cultural and media-related activities.
On the occasion, the Orang Journalists’ Association, East Udalguri Press Club, APKU Udalguri District Committee and the Udalguri District Journalists’ Trust and Development Society extended their congratulations and best wishes to Gunindra Kumar Deka, expressing hope for his continued success and contributions in the years ahead.
