Assam Police Seize Drugs Worth ₹2.34 Crore in Sribhumi; Three Arrested in Anti-Narcotics Drive

Sribhumi, June 25: In a major anti-narcotics operation, Sribhumi Police have seized 11,695 bottles of a suspected intoxicating substance valued at approximately ₹2.34 crore and arrested three individuals in connection with the case.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the development on social media, lauding the police for the successful operation and describing it as another significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the state.

“Some lessons are expensive. For this drug network, the bill came to ₹2.34 crore,” the Chief Minister said, congratulating the police team involved in the operation.

Sarma reiterated the state government’s commitment to its ongoing anti-drug campaign, stating that Assam Police would continue to intensify action against narcotics trafficking and substance abuse.

“You can keep trying, but Assam Police will always try harder,” he added.

Police have initiated a detailed investigation to trace the origin of the seized contraband, identify its intended destination and uncover possible links to a larger trafficking network. Further legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway.

The seizure forms part of the state government’s sustained crackdown under the “Assam Against Drugs” campaign aimed at curbing illegal narcotics trade across Assam.
