GUWAHATI, Aug. 11: Fatashil Ambari Police arrested a man allegedly involved in circulating counterfeit currency and seized suspected fake notes worth nearly Rs 1 lakh in Guwahati.
The accused was identified as Harsh Agarwal, a resident of Bharalumukh.
According to preliminary information, police recovered the suspected counterfeit currency from his possession while he was allegedly attempting to circulate the fake notes in the city.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the source of the counterfeit currency and ascertain whether the accused was linked to a larger network involved in its circulation.
Further details, including the denominations of the seized notes and the involvement of other persons, are awaited.
