Anti-Ragging Campaign Held at Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College

Udalguri-Sonitpur, August 13: The Anti-Ragging Cell of Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College organised an awareness campaign on the campus to sensitise students about the harmful consequences of ragging and promote a healthy academic environment.

The campaign began in front of the administrative building, where Principal Dr Sukdev Adhikari addressed the gathering and urged students to make a collective effort to maintain a safe and healthy academic atmosphere. Members of the Students’ Union extended their cooperation to the campaign.

Governing Body president Dr Jogendra Saikia, IQAC coordinator Dr Hari Prasad Baruah, Red Ribbon Club programme officer Md Saiful Islam, Assistant Professor Nizamuddin Ahmed and Commerce department head Bikash Baruah were present during the programme.

Dr Jyotshna Baruah and Dr Pitambar Sedai, coordinators of the Anti-Ragging Cell, addressed the students and outlined the measures being taken by the cell to prevent ragging on the campus. They stressed the importance of collective action and warned that ragging was a punishable offence that could attract severe consequences.

The campaign was organised by Dr Pitambar Sedai and was conducted across the college campus to spread awareness among students about maintaining a ragging-free academic environment.
