DHAKUAKHANA, Oct 16: The Takam Mising Porin Kebang (TMPK) celebrated its 55th foundation day in Dhakuakhana on Friday, with programmes organised across 12 regional committees under its Dhakuakhana district committee and in places outside Assam, including Delhi and Bengaluru.

The main event was held at the premises of All Assam Miri ME School under the initiative of the Indur-Laipuliya Village Committee, affiliated with the Pub Dhakuakhana Regional Committee.

MMK Central Committee president and MAC chairman Sunil Kumar Pegu and TMPK Central Committee vice-president Tuniram Panging attended the programme, along with several other community leaders.

The leaders also urged young people to take greater responsibility in educational, social and political spheres to secure the community’s future. They called for unity and greater emphasis on education to build a progressive society.

District- and regional-level leaders and workers, including Amarjit Doley, Khirod Pegu, Pradip Doley and Amrit Doley, Dhakuakhana Anchalik Panchayat member and MMK Dhakuakhana District Committee secretary, were also present.
