The construction of a Working Women’s Hostel in Longding is moving forward at a steady pace, confirmed by a recent site inspection led by local MLA Thangwang Wangham. The visit, aimed at ensuring the project’s timely completion, saw the MLA review the ongoing work alongside Ranka Nani, the Assistant Engineer for the Water Resources Department (WRD), the project contractor, and the individual who donated the land. Wangham emphasized the urgency of the project and pressed all parties involved to expedite the process.
Once operational, the hostel will offer safe and affordable accommodation specifically for female employees in the district whose monthly earnings are below Rs 35,000. The facility is slated to be managed by a dedicated warden and is intended to be a supportive and secure environment for Longding’s working women. This development is part of a statewide initiative designed to enhance infrastructure for working women, thereby fostering a more positive and secure professional atmosphere throughout Arunachal Pradesh.
MLA Wangham took the opportunity to commend the state leadership, expressing his appreciation to Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and Women & Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul for their introduction of these progressive measures. Furthermore, he underscored the critical need for continued investment in women-centric infrastructure projects to effectively strengthen women’s overall participation in the workforce.
