Dibrugarh University Inter-College Youth Festival Begins at Duliajan College

Duliajan: The four-day Dibrugarh University Inter-College Youth Festival commenced today at Duliajan College amid a vibrant and festive atmosphere. The mega event has drawn participation from over 1,500 students representing 63 colleges affiliated to Dibrugarh University. The 2025–26 Youth Festival, scheduled from January 28 to 31, is being hosted at Duliajan College under the coordination of the Zubin Garg Samanbaya Khetra. Seven stages have been set up to accommodate the wide range of literary, cultural and theatrical competitions.

The main entrance gate of the festival was inaugurated by Duliajan MLA Teros Gowala. This was followed by the hoisting of the Dibrugarh University flag by Registrar Dr Paramananda Sonowal, the Sports Council flag by Dean of Students’ Welfare and Cultural Coordinator Dr Surajit Barkataki, and the host college flag by Principal Dr Lok Bikash Gogoi. Flags of participating colleges were hoisted by their respective representatives.

The Purnakanta Hazarika Memorial Main Stage was inaugurated by Aruna Hazarika, wife of the late Purnakanta Hazarika. The inaugural ceremony, held in the afternoon, was formally inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Dr Jiten Hazarika, who also released the festival souvenir Yuvaprajna and a research publication titled Eco Vision – Thinks Beyond Disciplinary Sciences. Several noted academicians and dignitaries attended the programme. The day concluded with various literary and cultural competitions across multiple memorial stages, including the inauguration of the one-act play competition.
