Assam Police Arrest Three Rajasthan Men for Allegedly Trying to Take Minor Girl Out of State

Police in Assam’s Sivasagar district have arrested three men from Rajasthan for allegedly attempting to take a 15-year-old girl from Kolgaon Bogi Chapori village out of the state, officials said.

The accused have been identified as Mohan Ram, Rajesh Bhati and Sukhram. According to police, the three had been staying at a house in the village for the last three days before their arrest.

Acting on information, Geleki Police intercepted the trio while they were allegedly making arrangements to transport the minor girl from Bogi Chapori to Rajasthan. The girl was rescued during the operation and brought under police protection.

In connection with the case, police also detained the girl’s grandfather, Suleman Laik, for questioning. Authorities are investigating his possible role and examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged attempt to take the minor out of Assam.

Officials said all four individuals are currently being interrogated as part of the ongoing probe. Investigators are also trying to determine whether any other persons were involved in the incident.

Police have launched a detailed investigation to establish the facts of the case and uncover the motive behind the alleged plan. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry, officials added.
