DHUBRI, April 30: Police busted an alleged fake marksheet racket following a raid at an academy in Jhagrarpar Pt III and seized computers, printers and forged certificates.
The operation was launched after a youth, Sagar Ghosh, submitted a suspicious marksheet during a school admission. During questioning, he stated that he had paid Rs 12,000 to a staff member, Jahidul Hussain, for the forged document after contacting the institute through online promotions.
Police recovered fake marksheets for multiple qualifications and suspected the academy’s involvement in large-scale fabrication of certificates. Authorities said the institution may have branches across Assam and added that further arrests were likely as the investigation continued.
