An incident has raised concern in the Basistha area of Guwahati after four schoolgirls reportedly went missing under mysterious circumstances on June 1.
According to initial reports, the missing students are from Beltola Majhipara Middle English School and reside in the Beharbari locality under Basistha. The girls had reportedly left their homes for school at around 8 am on a routine school day.
However, when they failed to return home by late evening, their families became alarmed and began searching for them. Despite repeated efforts, the children could not be traced, following which the families approached the police for immediate assistance.
The missing students have been identified as Nirupai Ray, Ayushree Singh, Jilmil Daimary and Rumi Baruah.
After receiving a complaint at Basistha Police Station, police launched a search operation to trace the whereabouts of the four girls. Authorities are also examining all possible angles as part of the ongoing investigation.
The simultaneous disappearance of four students from the same school on the same day has triggered concern among local residents. Police have intensified efforts to locate them, while further details are awaited as the search continues.
