Four Suspected Cattle Thieves Arrested, Stolen Cows Recovered in Dhubri Police Operation

Dhubri, May 24: In a swift operation ahead of Eid celebrations, police in Assam’s Dhubri district arrested four suspected cattle thieves and recovered two allegedly stolen cows from the riverine Ironjongla Part-III area across the Brahmaputra River.

The operation was carried out by a team led by Police Officer Abha Jyoti Rabha of the AM Co Road Police Outpost, with assistance from security personnel and local residents. Acting on specific information regarding suspected cattle theft activities in the area, the police launched a raid and managed to intercept the accused.

During the operation, officials recovered two cows and also seized several sharp-edged weapons that were allegedly found in the possession of the suspects.

The arrested individuals were identified as Samer Ali, Rajab Ali, Mofizul Mondal and Nur Haque Mandal.

Following their detention, the four accused were brought to the AM Co Road Bazaar Town Police Outpost for legal procedures and further questioning.

Police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation to determine whether the accused have links to a larger cattle theft or smuggling network operating in Dhubri’s riverine border areas.

Officials said interrogation of the arrested individuals is continuing and further arrests may be made as the investigation moves forward.
