Golaghat Car Crash: Vehicle Catches Fire After Alleged Drunk Driving Stunt, Three Injured

Golaghat, April 29: A serious road accident in Assam’s Golaghat district left three people injured after a four-wheeler, allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol, crashed into an electric pole and burst into flames, triggering panic among local residents.

According to preliminary information, the driver was reportedly attempting to perform stunts on the road when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to ram into the roadside electric pole. The impact was followed by a fire that rapidly engulfed the vehicle, leaving it completely destroyed before emergency services could bring the situation under control.

Eyewitnesses said the incident drew immediate attention from nearby residents, some of whom rushed to the scene and allegedly assaulted the driver in the aftermath of the crash. The situation remained tense for a brief period as flames continued to spread through the vehicle.

All three occupants sustained injuries and were promptly shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, details regarding their condition have not yet been officially confirmed.

Fire and emergency services later managed to extinguish the blaze, but the vehicle was reduced to a charred shell. Authorities are expected to conduct further investigation into the incident to establish the sequence of events and confirm the circumstances surrounding the crash.
