Incessant rainfall since Thursday morning caused severe waterlogging at 9th Mile, 10th Mile and Jorabat, disrupting vehicular movement on both sides of NH-27.
Authorities immediately implemented traffic diversions for light motor vehicles. Vehicles entering Guwahati were diverted at Digaru, while those leaving the city were diverted at Koinadhara Point.
Motorists travelling out of Guwahati were advised to use the Narengi route as an alternative. The traffic advisory was also circulated on social media platforms, including Facebook and X, to inform commuters about the diversions.
