Chairperson Sarat Barkakati said that while Assamese literature has a tradition of short forms, the trend of “paramanu” or micro‑stories is relatively new in the region. He said he was inspired by the famous six‑word short story in English and defined paramanu as a work whose existence is clear but whose expansion is minimal; sometimes a single sentence can tell the whole story.
The event was seen as a positive sign for innovation in short forms and creative discussion in Hojai. Kalpana Devi Goswami, president of Hojai Sahitya Sabha, and secretary Sarveshwar Pathak jointly thanked the organizers, the readers, and the audience for their participation.
