Biswanath Chariali: The Sootea Press Club felicitated international Wushu player Dikshya Tiwari of Karayani, Sootea, at a felicitation programme held at Wushu Machinary on Sunday in recognition of her remarkable achievement at the international level. Dikshya, who received training at the Wushu Machinary in Sootea, represented India at the Batumi Open International Wushu Championship in Georgia, where she won three medals.

She secured two silver medals and one bronze medal at the championship, bringing laurels to the country. She won silver medals in the Nanquan and Nandao events and a bronze medal in the Nangun event. The felicitation programme was presided over by Ananda Handique, president of Sootea Press Club, while secretary Saurabh Hazarika explained the objectives of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the organisers highlighted that despite limited facilities at the Wushu Machinary in Sootea, several players trained there have succeeded in winning numerous medals at national and international competitions in recent years.Dikshya Tiwari was felicitated on behalf of the Sootea Press Club with a gamosa and a certificate of appreciation.
