Goalpara, May 30: Assam Police continued its anti-narcotics drive with another operation in the Rakhasini area of Goalpara district, resulting in the arrest of two alleged drug peddlers and the seizure of suspected heroin.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mokaddes Ali and Sahar Ali. During the operation, police recovered 6.61 grams of suspected heroin concealed in five containers.
Officials said the raid was carried out as part of the state’s ongoing campaign against drug trafficking and narcotics distribution networks. The latest seizure adds to a series of anti-drug operations conducted by Assam Police across multiple districts in recent weeks.
Police stated that efforts are being intensified to curb the illegal drug trade and dismantle supply chains operating within the state.
A case has been registered in connection with the seizure, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband and identify others who may be linked to the network.
