Two Alleged Drug Peddlers Arrested in Nagaon, Suspected Narcotics and Air Pistol Seized

In a significant anti-narcotics operation, police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered suspected narcotic substances, an air pistol, mobile phones and a motorcycle in Assam’s Nagaon district.

The accused were identified as Jahirul Islam of Purba Kaladuba and Ejazul Islam, a resident of Dhing Bori Chapori.

According to reports, the two men had allegedly reached Langia in the Dhing area with the intention of selling narcotics. Suspicious of their activities, local residents intervened and detained the duo before handing them over to the authorities.

Following the information, teams from Dhing and Dumdumia police stations carried out a joint operation. During the search, police recovered seven containers containing suspected narcotic substances, one air pistol, two mobile phones and a Hero Glamour motorcycle bearing registration number AS 02 H 7569.

All the seized items were taken into police custody, while the two suspects were arrested for further investigation.

Police said the accused are being interrogated to trace the origin of the suspected drugs and to determine whether they are linked to a larger narcotics network operating in the region. Further legal proceedings are being initiated in accordance with the law.
