Guwahati, May 4: Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi on May 4 raised concerns over the pace of vote counting in the Titabor Assembly constituency, stating that the process appeared unusually slow during the ongoing counting for the 2026 elections in Assam.
Speaking to reporters, Gogoi said the matter had already been brought to the attention of officials inside the counting centre. He noted that the counting process in Titabor seemed to be progressing at a slower pace compared to other constituencies.
Despite the concern, he urged party workers and supporters to remain patient, emphasising that fluctuations in leads across counting rounds are a routine aspect of the electoral process. He said variations in trends should not be interpreted prematurely and that conclusions should be drawn only after final results are declared.
Counting of votes began across the state on the morning of May 4 under stringent security arrangements, with early trends indicating a strong lead for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
