Manipur Police arrest man with 785g suspected brown sugar in Churachandpur

Churachandpur Police arrested a 35-year-old man and seized around 785 grams of suspected brown sugar in Manipur’s Churachandpur district on October 7, officials said.

The accused was identified as Ngamkhojang Kipgen, son of Jangmang Kipgen of Tuidam Village. He is currently residing at Lhangnem Village.

A team from Churachandpur Police Station apprehended Kipgen at Misao Lhahvom Village, which falls under the police station’s jurisdiction.

Police said the substance was packed in 60 soap cases and weighed approximately 785 grams in total. A Pulsar motorcycle was also seized from his possession.

Kipgen and the seized items were taken into custody as further legal proceedings were initiated. Police said the exact nature and composition of the suspected contraband would be established through forensic examination.
