Khimiyang Circle Hosts Multi-Departmental Review to Bolster Monsoon Readiness and Disaster Response

Itanagar, Feb 27: A comprehensive joint review meeting was convened on February 27 for Khimiyang Circle, integrating the 5th Circle Level Monitoring Committee (CLMC), the Fire Awareness Committee, Monsoon Preparedness, and NCORD initiatives. This strategic gathering was organized to fortify inter-departmental coordination and enhance overall preparedness as the region approaches the monsoon season. Following directives established during previous readiness reviews, the session prioritized disaster mitigation, fire safety protocols, flood response strategies, and the robust execution of NCORD-related public welfare programs.

During the deliberations, officials analyzed a wide spectrum of critical operational concerns, including preventive measures tailored for the monsoon, the activation of emergency response mechanisms, and the seamless synchronization of efforts between various departments. Significant attention was paid to public awareness strategies and ensuring that essential services remain fully operational within vulnerable areas. The participants underscored the necessity of real-time information sharing and collective action to effectively minimize potential risks to life and property throughout the high-risk months.

The meeting saw diverse representation from local leadership and technical experts, including the ZPM Khimiyang, the Officer-in-Charge of the Khimiyang Police Station, and the Medical Officer-in-Charge of PHC Khimiyang. Also in attendance were the ADO, HDO, BRCC, and Junior Engineers representing the PHED and Electrical Departments. The presence of the BMMU from ArSRLM and GPCs from Thamlom, New Longkey, and Hanalthung, alongside other key officials, ensured a holistic approach to the circle’s administrative and developmental challenges.

In a concluding directive, all departments were instructed to maintain a state of high alert to facilitate prompt intervention during emergencies. The administration emphasized that continued collaboration under NCORD and other developmental frameworks remains essential to safeguarding the public. By aligning resource management with proactive safety measures, the circle aims to maintain a high standard of community welfare and infrastructure resilience during the upcoming seasonal transitions.
